EXHIBITION TITLE 2026: Call for Entries

Overview:

SCAD Savannah invites students to submit work at the intersections of painting, ceramics, printmaking, and fibers for the upcoming exhibition Material x Process at Alexander Hall, on view from October 16th to November 1st, 2026. This call is open to all undergraduate and graduate students based on the Savannah campus, whose works are interdisciplinary (combining more than one media) and showcase innovative processes alongside an interest in material diversity and exploration.

Students who have enrolled in the Spring 2026 course SFIN 560-001: Interdisciplinary Studio Practices are obligated to apply to this open call. Works created during this course will be given priority consideration for exhibition, though students in this course are also welcome to submit other works to the call.

All accepted works in the exhibition will be in the running for the following prizes: Best in Show, Second Place, and Third Place. See below for prize details.

 

Submission deadline: Wed., September 23rd, 2026 at 11:59PM EST

Notification of acceptance: Week of September 28th

Exhibition: October 16 to November 1, 2026, Alexander Hall Gallery

Opening Reception: Fri., October 16th, 2026 from 5pm-7pm, Alexander Hall Gallery

Award Categories 

Best in Show: $500

Second Prize: $250

Third Prize: $100

 

Submission Requirements:

  • Must be a current graduate and undergraduate student enrolled in any major/minor at the Savannah location. 
  • Works must be created anytime during enrollment at SCAD. 
  • Work must incorporate at least two of the following disciplines: painting, fibers, ceramics, and printmaking. Works must display an interest in diverse material, technical workings, and innovative processes. 
  • Works that are 2D and 3D will be considered, though 2D will be given priority. No video, light installation, or AI-generated works will be accepted.
  • Submit 1 - 4 images by Wed., September 23rd, 2026 at 11:59PM EST

 

How To Enter:

        1. Upload quality digital images through Submittable.

       2. One work per submission. Each piece will need a separate submission.

 

If your work is accepted for exhibition, you must abide by the following requirements and timeline:

  • Deliver framed accepted works to Alexander Hall no later than 4:30pm on October 19th. Email Lexi Baker at llbaker@scad.edu to schedule drop off/delivery.
  • All accepted works on paper must be professionally framed and ready to hang prior to drop off/delivery.
  • All works on canvas must have neat, clean or painted edges.
  • If actual work differs from submitted images, it may be rejected from exhibition.

Call for Submissions: 2026 Fine Arts Showcase Savannah

Small Works Wall

As part of the 2026 Fine Arts Showcase, SCAD is thrilled to feature a special section dedicated to celebrating small works! For this exhibition, small works are defined as pieces measuring 12" x 12" or smaller, with no dimension exceeding 12 inches. All media—including 3D—are welcome, and there is no preferred medium or style. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the power of creativity in a small scale!

 

Key Dates

• Submission Opens: Friday, April 24th, 2026.

• Submission Deadline: Sunday, September 13th, 2026, at 11:59pm. 

• Notification of Acceptance: Monday, September 21st, 2026.

• Artwork Drop Off: Monday, October 19th and Tuesday, October 20th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

• Fine Arts Showcase: Friday, October 30th, 2026.

 

Submission Requirements

• You may submit 1 to 2 digital images. Submissions exceeding 2 images will not be considered.

• SCAD is seeking works on canvas, paper, and other two- or three-dimensional materials that are wall mounted.

• Largest dimension must be 12” or less.

Works larger than this must be submitted for the Main Exhibition of the Fine Arts Showcase:

• Digital installations will not be accepted.

• SCAD Art Sales will be present at the reception and will feature accepted works for sale. 

• The information and pricing you submit will be used for labels and promotional materials. 

• Please consider all details final upon submission.

 

Pricing Guidelines

• The retail price of all small works will be $150.

The artist will receive $105 for each small work that is sold.

 

Submission Guidelines

All entries must be submitted through Submittable and include high-quality digital images:

• Images should be well lit, 300 DPI or higher

• Include the following with each image submitted:

  1. Artist Name
  2. SCAD ID Number
  3. SCAD Email Address
  4. Telephone Number
  5. Title of Work
  6. Medium
  7. Dimensions in inches (H x W) for 2D works and (H x W x D) for 3D works
  8. Year of Creation
  9. Edition (if applicable)

 

Professional Presentation Requirements

All accepted works must be installation-ready upon delivery:

• Works on Paper must be framed and equipped with proper hanging hardware.

• Paintings on Canvas must be framed or stretched with clean, finished edges.

• Ceramic, Sculpture, and Other 3D Works must be prepared for hanging.

Please note: Ready-made frames of poor quality will not be accepted.

This juried exhibition highlights the creativity of SCAD and offers an opportunity to exhibit work in a professional setting, connect with the SCAD community, and gain visibility with collectors, curators, and SCAD Art Sales.

Pricing Guidelines

• The artist price is the amount submitted by you that reflects what the artist will receive if the work is sold.

• The artist price must include all presentation/framing costs.

• The retail price will be calculated by SCAD adding a sales commission to the artist price.

• Once submitted and accepted, prices cannot be changed by the artist unless requested by SCAD.
